Quincy Neighborhoods

  • Germantown - Goes back to the 1750s! And like the name suggests, this part of Quincy was popular with German immigrants. Germantown is a small peninsula between Rock Island Cove and Town River. Most housing consists of white trimmed, shingle covered two-story buildings.
  • Houghs Neck - Just north of Germantown is Houghs Neck (another peninsula). Habitation in this part of Quincy goes back to the 1600s, making it one of the oldest communities in the United States. Houghs Neck has a definite seaside living feel and the weather is quite pleasant in the summer.
  • Marina Bay - A newer community, mostly developed during the 1980s. Here, you can find waterfront living, a marina and plenty of dining options. A little ways inland, you’ll find a very charming, well-kept suburban neighborhood.
  • North Quincy - The best location for people who have to commute into Boston daily. Plus, this part of town also benefits by being coastal.
  • South Quincy - Location of John Adams birthplace and closest to the Blue Hills Reservation. A good location for those looking to shy away from the hustle and bustle of the Boston Metro but still have access to shopping centers and freeways.
  • Squantum - The most northern part of Quincy, Squantum has a similar vibe as Marina Bay. Mostly nice suburban homes, but close to the ocean. Quiet with great weather - what else can you ask for?
  • West Quincy - This part of town has the benefits of being near Interstate 93, which is great if you commute into Boston. It has all your community necessities like restaurants, cafes and shopping options nearby.

Nearby Attractions and Things To Do

  • Blue Hills Reservation - One of Boston’s best hiking areas. People visit from far and wide to trek through this reservation.
  • Fenway Park - If you’re a Red Sox fan, just hop on Interstate 93 for a few minutes to catch a game or take the Red Line and a short bus ride to the ballpark.
  • Foxborough / Gillette Stadium - Just a 30-minute drive southeast and you can watch the Pats dominate another season (hopefully!).
