Franklin is approximately 40 miles from downtown Boston. It’s southwest of Boston and also somewhat close to Providence, Rhode Island. It’s a quaint suburb of Boston, lush with old growth trees and rich history. The town was incorporated in 1778 and named after Benjamin Franklin. It’s also home to America’s first public library.
Franklin has great schools and a considerable amount of schools for its relatively small population. There’s also Dean College within the city limits. For those of you who do not want to drive, there are two train stations that go to Boston (the Franklin Dean College Line and Forge Park 495 line).

Brookline is a community west of the Boston metro. One can say Brookline is the closest suburb to Boston. The average drive into downtown Boston is 12 minutes from Brookline. The Green Line (D) is 8 stops to Downtown Crossing.
